Quality, Specifications and Compliance

We recognise that product quality and regulatory compliance are fundamental to the animal feed supply chain. Different ingredients have different nutritional characteristics, processing requirements, safety considerations and permitted applications. Import requirements also vary between countries.

Product Specifications

Depending on the product, technical requirements may include nutritional composition, moisture, protein, fat, ash, microbiological parameters, contaminant limits and other relevant quality indicators. Final specifications should be agreed before a contract is confirmed.

Documentation

Depending on the product, origin, destination and contract, relevant documentation may include:

• Product specification sheets
• Certificates of analysis, where available and applicable
• Country-of-origin documentation
• Health or veterinary certificates where required
• Export documentation and traceability information where applicable
• Other documents required by importing authorities or the buyer

Regulatory Compliance

Animal feed ingredients may be subject to import permits, approved-origin or establishment requirements, veterinary controls, sanitary measures, labelling rules and restrictions on particular ingredients or end uses. Buyers should confirm requirements with the relevant competent authority, customs broker or regulatory adviser before ordering.

Before a Shipment Is Confirmed

1. Identify the product and agree its specification.
2. Confirm origin and available supplier information.
3. Check destination-country import requirements.
4. Agree documentation and inspection arrangements.
5. Confirm packaging, quantity, delivery terms and contract details.
